Organized by STEM Fellowship under the patronage of Canadian Commission for UNESCO.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Addressing climate change and conserving biodiversity requires the innovative fusion of generative AI and cybersecurity. Generative AI’s capacity for data-driven insights can offer unparalleled comprehension of local ecosystems. This includes creating predictive models by analyzing data from diverse sources, such as local flora and fauna patterns. Yet, the integrity of this ecological data is paramount. Cybersecurity plays a pivotal role in safeguarding data from unauthorized breaches and potential misuse.

We urge students to leverage AI’s analytical prowess for biodiversity conservation while ensuring robust protection of crucial ecological data. Your strategies can redefine the way we perceive and undertake biodiversity conservation in our communities.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

STEM Fellowship invites high school and CEGEP students to environmental, cybersecurity, and socioeconomic Open Data inquiry to look for analytics and AI-based solutions for UN Sustainable Development Goal 15 (SDG 15).

The Challenge brings the fascination of Open Science inquiry into the students learning and synergizes with classroom and extracurricular experiences. It prompts young people to take an active digital citizenship position and fosters new sustainable development innovative ideas.

      • Unleash Your Potential: Show off your analytical and creative prowess.
      • Real Impact: Your ideas could shape the future of local biodiversity conservation.
      • Networking: Rub shoulders with industry leaders, researchers, and fellow innovators.
      • Prizes Galore: Win accolades, monetary rewards, and have your findings published in a peer-reviewed journal!
      • Skill Boost: Master data science, AI, and research techniques, all while working on a project close to your heart.
      • Broaden Horizons: Hear riveting talks, attend workshops, and gain insights that could shape your academic and professional journey.
